“WHY DON’T MORE PEOPLE REMEMBER THEIR PAST LIVES?”

“Why Don’t More People Remember Their Past Lives?”

First of all, I don’t think the actual existence (or non-existence) of Past Lives is important.
Because if they exist, I think the value of them is still to inform our lives “in the present.” And whatever we call them, doesn’t matter. It’s how we “use” them in the “Now” that is important.

That said, why don’t more people remember their past lives? Is it because remembering them would interfere with their ‘present-day life’?

I don’t think so. I think the primary reason more people don't remember their past life memories is because most people are walking around with so much fear that it blocks their memories. And we may have all types of fears, not just the fear of death, that serve to block our minds from fully functioning in all sorts of ways, including accessing our memories.

It’s no different with our memory of our present-day life. We all experience blockages sometimes — we can’t remember sometimes the simplest things…where did we leave our car keys?…and memory experts tell us it’s due to blockages, mental blocks, that we have that may be interfering with our ability to retrieve the information.

I think it’s no different with our memory retrieval of past lives. With one further wrinkle…

In the case of our past lives, our fears of knowing more about “who we are” come into play. So, that’s a further complication, a different level of blockage that seems to be involved in our “remembering our past (lives).”

It is an identity issue.

So, think about it. What other issues come into play if it’s an identity issue?

In their everyday lives, many people spend a lot of energy trying to divert attention away from ‘who they are’ because they don’t really like many parts of themselves — maybe it’s their nose, their lips, shade of their skin or some other physical feature — or, maybe it’s their personality…too timid, no sense of humor, awkward in social groups, etc.

Bottom line is we all have them — stuff we don’t “love” about ourselves.

And, so what happens? We end up rejecting big parts of ‘who we are’ — whether physical or more abstract qualities.

Well, if that’s the common behavior that many of us have about ourselves, then how can we expect to easily open up to our past life memories? After all those are memories of our past — they are part of us, by definition. And if we harbor any fears like “what if” I remember something unflattering about myself?…then that will block our ability to retrieve.

Many of us are walking around ‘handicapped,’ ‘disabled,’ and 80% of it is self-inflicted

So, what’s the solution?

We need to find effective ways to ‘turn within’ and release our fears and anxieties, so we can open up to ourselves more freely, more receptively.

And, I’m a big believer in “whatever works…” so whichever technique works for you to accomplish this, great! Go for it.

FINAL THOUGHTS…

So in a nutshell, what our Foundation is doing is helping people become less ‘handicapped,’ less ‘disabled,’ so they can start to live a happier life freer from fear — starting with the fear of death — but including other fears, even personal fears about ourselves and our perceived inadequacies.

The natural side effect of this, as far as past life memories are concerned, will be that people’s memories will often start to naturally open up more. Because the basis of people not remembering past lives is not because the memories would interfere with their lives now — the basis of not remembering is because people are walking around scared silly about stuff that should not scare them.

And, keep in mind — it does not mean that you need to be fully “stress-free” in order to open enough to begin accessing past life memories. But once you have opened yourself up enough, so that you have begun to embrace and accept — in that sense “love” — your warts and weaknesses, then you will be able to access these memories.

How do you do that, you ask?

That’s for another blog essay where I give my visual analogy of how past life memories can unfold.

Stay tuned.
